Educate Yourself To Be A ALLY?

SAFE SPACE TRAINING

DO YOU KNOW?

Most LGBTQ+ individuals will not seek help because they are afraid that the person on the other side of the desk/phone will blame their problems on being LGBTQ.

—What is Safe Space Training

Our Safe Space Training is designed to promote a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment for all members of the LGBTQ+ community. The training gives attendees the opportunity to learn about LGBTQ+ identities, gender and sexuality, examine prejudice, assumptions, and privilege. This 2 hour workshop will also give your staff better awareness and understanding of the LGBTQ+community, and how they can be an effective ally.

— Why LGBTQ+ Safe Space Training

LGBTQ + people who face discrimination in the workplace have difficulty concentrating, and may end up leaving their jobs. Sensitivity training benefits both businesses and their employees, fostering stronger relationships within the workplace. Research has repeatedly demonstrated a positive relationship between LGBTQ+ supportive workplaces and employee health, commitment, job satisfaction, and productivity. LGBTQ+ inclusive policies demonstrate a commitment to employees and are likely to attract socially conscious consumers.

— What can you expect

Our Safe Space Trainings are conducted by Betty Jacobs, Founder/Executive Director of LGBTQ+Allies Lake County. The 2 hour training includes a general overview of the LGBTQ community and issues, understanding pronouns, discussion and activities, and answers “what does it means to be an ally”.
